Fun Outing with Kellie - Paramount Ranch California Family Photographer

While Kellie and I waited for her husband, Randy, to come home from work, we got to check out Chik-fil-A in Thousand Oaks area (that is a big thing for me since I was looking for sweet tea!) and also visit Paramount Ranch in Santa Monica Mountains.  We have a cute baby with us, so why not take photos of him while we were there right? :)  I only took a few from my camera since I mainly used my iPhone ;) It is a bad habit of mine!  Anyway, this place is gorgeous and reminds me of a ghost town (but that is what makes this place mysterious and beautiful), and I wish Randy was able to join us for the impromptu mini-shoot.

Kellie & Randy's Family Session - Malibu Shores, CA Portrait Photographer

Kellie is one of my best friends in high school, and I am thankful that I got to see her while I was in California last month.  I stayed at her and her husband's house in Newbury Park for several days before Bobby and his sister flew to Los Angeles, where I met up with them, and then drove down to Yucaipa and Lake Elsinore to see their aunt and dad.  I had such a great time in California while staying at Kellie and Randy's house.  I got to hang out with their handsome Labrador Retriever named Dodger.  He is such a sweet boy and stole a piece of my heart :)

Kellie always told me how she wished she could take Dodger with them every time they fly back to Florida and visit her family so that they could have a family photo session with me.  Flying Dodger all the way from Cali to Florida just for a photo-shoot is not such a hot idea, so of course, when I was in California, it was a must to have their family pictures taken then! 

We went to Santa Monica Mountains National Park first for pictures since it was closer to their home.  Kellie and Randy told me that they recently had a bad wildfire in the area, and when we got there, sadly, the mountains look so bare and "dead." We took some photos there anyway, and I found one lone standing tree up on the mountain that was fun for pictures.  We didn't stay long there and drove to Malibu Shores for the rest of our photo-shoot.  It was quite an adventure getting to the shores since we had to beat the "July gloom" hovering over us.  As we got closer to the shores, I saw this huge sea fog rolling in and hiding the sun from us.  The sun was still shining in certain areas of the coast, and we tried to get there fast before the sun sat behind the mountains.  One thing for sure, I never have that problem here in flat-land Florida :) 

Once I'm caught up with work and hopefully before the wedding season starts to get busy again, I will post more personal photos from my California trip.
