The House that Ruth Built

I can still remember going to my first New York Yankees game ever. The smell of popcorn and hotdog, the first sight of the huge green field as I was walking to my seat, and the sound of a cracked bat from a fastball and people's wild cheer...aah, there was an instant love connection there :) My mom and I were big fans of Paul O'Neil before Jeter came along and always rooted for him :)

During my NYC trip a couple of weeks ago, I got the chance to take the stadium tour and say goodbye. I'm definitely not happy with the decision to bulldoze the stadium. It's a piece of history. It's the House the Ruth Built....it will be missed :(

Oh yeah, the tour sucked a bit. All these mean securities were following us and eyeing all of us like hawks making sure that no one steals anything from the stadium. Hah--they must have missed me taking a handful of gravel from the Yankee dugout and putting them in my pocket. That's right, I got some dirt and gravel that Jeter and A-Rod probably spitted on (gross-hah!).

PS - Congrats to the Phillies! Although, it's an NL team..great job, guys! Yay for Tampa Bay Rays also!!

The Yankees suck, but I agree. It's very sad that they are going to tear it down. I know the feeling. It still makes me tear up when I see the video of Three Rivers Stadium coming down. But... PNC Park and Heinz Field are absolutely gorgeous venues and blow the old stadium away, and I'm sure you'll learn to love their new venue.
