Broadcast, Broadcast

We definitely live in a society where almost anything is being broadcasted.  Ever since I attended the Southern Weddings Social Media Workshop last Friday, I've met several more people that work directly in Social Media.  What is the #1 thing in common that they all mentioned to me?  Webcasting!  Ooh, how I hate how I sound on video, but I also see this as another opportunity for me to step out of my comfort zone :)

I've been doing some online-window shopping for a good camcorder/video camera since the movie feature in my point-n-shoot digital camera is a bit low-end, and I found this in
Amazon:

Fellow bloggers and webcasters, what are your thoughts on a good and affordable video camera out there...and well, simply your thoughts on video blogging as well? :)

Thank you!

I love the flip, I don't have one, I purchased one for a little girl in Ohio, but one day I'll get me one!

I've seen some amazing work done with them....

Love your work!

I haven't done this yet, but I soooooo want to! But the thing is... what to talk about?? And when to sit down and actually do it?? Now that my office is all decorated I think it's time! I ventured into video with a snippet from the aquarium on my blog, but it wasn't a broadcast. I'm interested to see where you go with this. :)

I'd like to find an affordable video camera too, so you'll have to let me know what you find!

As for video blogging, I think it's a great idea! One of the bloggers I visit (http://cfhusband.blogspot.com) does occasional video blogging too. It's a nice addition to the written word! And for a shutterbug such as yourself, it's not a far step from the stills you already take!

I think webcasting is a great idea!

My husband and I bought a JVC Everio Digital Camcorder last year and have been very pleased with it. You can get it on sale for around $300 which is not too bad for a hard drive camcorder. What I love most about it is its compact size... it is small enough to fit in your purse, but big enough to have good control when shooting.

Hey Corinna,
I have the mini flip, but not the HD version. I just took it out yesterday and very much enjoyed it. The sound quality and picture were fairly decent for such a small camera. And, it's incredibly easy to stop and start and to review the videos you've taken.

I have no idea how it looks on the computer yet, as I haven't downloaded anything, but the usage of it was great :)
