Brittany & Tim's New Year's Eve Wedding - Gainesville FL Wedding Photographer

Bobby and I had a wonderful time celebrating New Year's Eve by capturing Brittany and Tim's beautiful wedding on photos. We drove down to Gainesville and spent our last day in 2011 with this wonderful couple. I had so much fun getting to know their families and friends, as well, as taking photos of them. Brittany and Tim got married at one of the most beautiful venues ever, the Baughman Center in University of Florida. I'm in love with the architectural structure of that venue and Lake Alice right outside the center is perfect for pictures :)

The wedding reception took place at where Brittany and Tim used to work together. The Hippodrome State Theater, is a lovely venue, and I'm also in love with the historic manual elevator inside the building. Of course, we had to get the couple's pictures taken inside of it :) Tim is an aviation pilot, and Brittany incorporated their love of traveling to their wedding-theme. I'm loving all the wedding details they had--from the old maps, globes, vintage books, yellow/brown lighting to table place cards with their pictures from their worldwide travel! Bobby and I love everything about this wedding, and we can't thank Brittany and Tim enough for having us be a part of their wedding day and literally their new year also!

Enjoy!
XOXO

One of the BEST cakes I've ever seen at weddings!! I almost cried when Brittany and Tim cut their cake ;)

Brittany designed the luggage stickers and had KB Kakes add edible screen prints on their wedding cake. The travel sticker below is from their Korea trip, and Brittany told me that the characters translate to "Brittany loves Tim" in English :) How sweet is that?!! :)

THEIR LOVE STORY:

How did you guys meet?

We met through Brittany's cousin, Joni down in Orlando when Tim came to live with Joni for a few months after he got a job down there.

Describe the proposal:

Being a pilot, Tim decided to recreate our first date. He rented an airplane and flew us both out to Cedar Key where he proposed with a message in the sand asking if I would marry him.

What is your favorite thing to do on your date night?

We really enjoy going out for bubble tea and coming home to watch Dexter.

What do you love about him so much?

His unwavering support, I never realized how important that was until I had it.

What do you love about her so much?

Her adventurous spirit. No destination is too far for her to work, live, or play.

What is your wedding invitation like and where did you go to get it done?

Our wedding invitation is shaped like a plane ticket, Brittany created it herself and had it printed at Alto Printing. The invite was perforated and one side was a postcard RSVP.

What are your wedding colors and why did you guys choose that color palette?

Think vintage old world. The dresses are burnt orange and you can find nearly every color somewhere in the wedding.

Describe your wedding cake:

It is created by KB Kakes in the shape of luggage pieces. There are 3 tiers and there are vintage luggage stickers from places we have traveled.

Describe your wedding flowers:

Done by The Plant Shoppe, they are a mixture of all types of flowers with different textures. Colors are yellow, red, orange, green, brown.

What is your First Dance song, Father/Daughter song, and Mother/Son song at your wedding reception?

First Dance: Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show

Father/Daughter: Butterfly Kisses spliced with a medley of songs they sang together when Brittany was a child

Mother/Son: Will get back to you on this.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

Tim planned the honeymoon to Las Vegas as a complete surprise.

What are you looking forward to in the future together?

Everything. I have no idea where we will be in 6 months let alone 6 years.
