Workout Songs

What gets me going on the elliptical machine is listening to awesome songs in my iPod. I get all pumped up listening to Dance/Techno remixes and even to Hillsong, Hilary Duff (don't smirk!), The Cure and U2. I looove Zumba and the African Salsa music--I just wish I can dance gracefully because I look pretty challenged when I'm trying to do the Merengue work out. ;-)

One song that really puts me into a trance is "Heaven" by DJ Sammy & Yanou. When it's time to cool down, I like listening to Coldplay, Sarah Brightman, Buddha Bar music and any classical music. Have you guys heard of Vitamin String Quartet? They are simply AMAZING!!

I have been listening to the same playlist since this Spring ;-) I think I need to update my playlist. Does anyone have any suggestions on great workout songs?? Thanks :)

xoxo

My taste in music is extremely different from yours but one I like is "Is she insane" by Disturbed. I also like to warm up or cool down with some Kings of Leon. Milk is my all time favorite song ever.

My current list:

The Ting Tings- Shut up and let me go
Miley Cyrus- See You Again
Cansei De Ser- Music is my hot sex
OAR- Hey Girl
Black Eyed Peas - My Hump
Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive
Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancing
Foo Fighters - All My Life
Salt n Pepa - What A Man
Boys Like Girls - The Great Escape
Mindless Self Indulgence - Kill The Rock
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - They Don't Love you Like I Love you
Going the Distance - Cake
Everybody Dance Now - CC & the Music Factory
and
A couple of different Prodigy songs

Try some of those! :) It also helps me if there are no pauses between songs -- like if they overlap right into each other so it feels all like one continuous song. :)

I'd have to go look at my workout playlist (which, um, I haven't listened to in a while, if you catch my drift) but one of my favorites is "Get Me Bodied" by Beyonce. It gets me so pumped! Also "My Humps" by BEP like Ali said. I actually think the beat is a good tempo for crunches!

Awesome!! Guys, these are great!

Peggy--hmmn..I have to be in a mood for hard rock, but I did check out Kings of Leon... haha.. I actually like the beat to the song, "Sex on Fire." ;-) Thanks--I never heard of them until now :)

Laurie--I loove Paul O. and Paul V.!! I have a lot of songs from them :) Gotta love that song "Starry Eyed Surprise" I actually had that song played in my wedding reception--LOL The song "Time of Our Lives" by Paul V. rocks...reminds me of The Verve's "Bittersweet Symphony" Got Switchfoot and Snow Patrol along w/ Augustana and The Fray in my Playlist--thank you!

Ali--Wow!! I never heard half of those bands you mentioned, and I looked them up in iTunes and they're awwesooome ;-) I really like that one by the Ting Tings--thanks! Oh yeah, Cake and Beck.. I love 'em.. "Going the Distance" is great.. now if I can only find my CD so I don't have to buy the song online... ;-) Thanks for the list!

Gwen--yeah, My Humps is good to get all pumped up :) I just love Fergie! Hmmn.. I don't have any Beyonce's songs except "Crazy in Love" ;-) I must download "Get Me Bodied"--thanks!!

Yeah, "Fighter" by Christina is on mine, too. It's a good motivator. "Stronger" by Kanye is another great one.

I forgot I also have "Toma" by Pit Bull. It's a bit dirty, but I like the beats.

Funny, I started a similar thread on a brides forum. It's always good to share playlist info!
