Nellie's Headshot Portrait Session - Jacksonville FL Portrait Photographer

My sweet office assistant happens to be one beautiful model also! Everyone, meet Nellie! She has been working with me for a couple of years now mainly at the office helping me cull photos, reply to emails and keep up with my Social Media. She helps me out at my photo-shoots also especially carrying my lighting gear, setting up backdrops, and getting the kids' attention for photos! She lived in Miami for awhile modeling before she came back to Jacksonville, and she still models to this day. I had the honor and pleasure of taking her photos for a contest she was entering for Jet Set Magazine last Fall. We had so much fun at the photo-shoot!

One of my favorite vendors, Makeup by Paulina Perez did a fantastic job with her makeup!  Nellie is a trooper for waking up at 4 am so she can get her hair and makeup done early enough so we can catch the sunrise glow for her outdoor photos :) We finished this fun session at the studio before she headed to her college class later that morning :) I am sure her beautiful eyes and smile brightened everyone's day at her class!

I am grateful for Nellie, and I am also happy to call her not only my assistant, but also my friend :)

Enjoy!
xoxo

Impromptu Phoot-Shoot with Meggie in the Philippines

Meet my beautiful childhood friend, Meggie :) Our parents are good friends with each other, and I remember always playing at her house when we were little. We kept in touch for a little bit when I moved to America at 10 years old. I remember her visiting New York City when I used to live up there, and that was really the last time since I've seen nor heard from her.

My brother Jazon visited the Philippines a few years ago, and he rekindled his friendships with our childhood friends. He found Meggie on Facebook, and of course, I had to befriend Meggie too! We kept in touch through there, and I'm so glad we got to see each other for coffee back in January of this year when Bobby and I were visiting Manila. I'm so happy that I got to see her again twice in one year. The second time was when I went back to the Philippines in September for almost a month :) Meggie's mom's garden is beautiful, and I always thought to myself how fun it would be to photograph there. Thankfully, Meggie is a great sport and was up for a last-minute mini-session! We started our session with her "rockstar" outfit, and we both agreed that a dress would probably be better for the garden pictures ;) Thanks to her mom, Tita May, for being our awesome stylist and dressing up and accessorizing Meggie for the impromptu photo-shoot :)

Enjoy!
XOXO

**Updated 10/30/11-I found these old pictures of Meggie and I when she visited New York City back in 1996 :) I also just realized that these pictures were taken on my 15th birthday! Great times :)

I used to live a block away from Hard Rock Cafe in NYC!

I remember this time very well when my mom was trying to take a picture of us by the Lincoln Center fountain. People just kept walking in front of her, and Meggie pretended to kick them out of the way ;)

At Columbus Circle and this was when we parted ways.

Enjoy!!

Sessions Sneak Peeks

Lots of fun sessions coming up soon!  Here are a couple of sneak peeks for now--enjoy :) This one is with Chandy's Bridesmaid Trash the Dress Session in New Orleans!

And here is Bobby's fabulous sister, Kathy, rocking that green scarf at this fun location I found...but lo and behold, there was a pit bull dog guarding the place.  Eh, turned out to be a really friendly dog!

G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S

It has been a busy week and a half since my last blog as we are getting close to Christmas. First, I would like to say HAPPY (Belated) 30th BIRTHDAY to my wonderful husband, Bobby :) His special day was on Dec. 7th, which was also our Engagement Anniversary. Since we are newlyweds, I guess that anniversary doesn't pertain anymore ;-)

As for tonight's post, I would love to introduce to you all the hot and glamorous diva, Scarlett Lillian. She's a wonderful friend and photographer--and not to mention, an awesome model as well :) Scar and I go way back in high school and had those times when we just communicated via email forwards in college. We rekindled our friendship through our love for photography just a little over a year ago. Scarlett was only not a guest at our wedding but our photographer in Vegas. So this time, it was my turn to be behind the camera and her turn to "model" for us (Bobby was there with me as always helping out with my camera bag). I always wanted to work on my night shots and always been a big fan of Gisele Bundchen. I love that cover picture of Gisele on Vanity Fair's Sept 2007 issue and wanted to re-create that glitzy-glam look. The weather at Jax Beach two weekends ago was just perfect for a night shooting, and Scar and I definitely took advantage of it. Below are the fun G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S pictures--so have fun!!

Oh yes, just want to say thank you to my husband for being there and "protecting" my model from crazy guys! Guys were walking up to us, whistling and wondering if Scarlett was really a celebrity. One guy even took pictures from his own camera--I just hope he won't use it for indecent purposes... ;-)

Here's the cover picture I wanted to re-create:

...and here's my version of the cover picture...

...okay, so it's not exactly the same...but you got the idea :)

Here are some of my favorite shots of the night:

Here is a picture of Scarlett's biggest fan that Bobby had to scold because he was getting a little too comfy with Scar (notice the look on her face):

Towards the end of the session, Scar and I just goofed off (she sure was one hot cookie that night!):

Here's the crew taking a break at Sun Dog after the photoshoot:

Thanks for checking out my blog!!!!!!!
