Kim & Clinton are Married!! - Jacksonville FL Wedding Photographer

I'm sooo happy to finally blog this beautiful couple's wedding!! Kim and Clinton make me fall in love with LOVE over and over again every time I look at their pictures :) They are just so perfect for each other and really, a match made in Heaven :) Both are the sweetest and kindest people you will ever meet, and their families and friends are exactly the same! Bobby and I had SO much fun at their wedding, and I can just feel the love in the air. It was freezing and windy on their wedding day, but Kim's infectious smile and Clinton's charming eyes are enough to warm each other :)

It was an honor to photograph this lovely couple's engagement session at the Clay County Fair earlier this year, and then to be able to photograph their own fairy tale! THEIR LOVE STORY:

How did you guys meet?

We first met in the 11th grade in high school. We played on the basketball teams and had 2 classes together. Our initial conversations were only about basketball. During our 12th grade year, we ended up in every class together. Coincidentally, we sat next to each other, due to being seated in alphabetical order. For a class assignment we had to get to know our neighbor by finding similarities and differences and present it to the class. As you know we were neighbors!

Describe the proposal:

June 12, 2010, he asked me to marry him at one of my most favorite places to visit...The Smoky Mountains! We were at the top of the mountain overlooking the city. It was beautiful.

What is your favorite thing to do on your date night?

Dinner and movie.

What do you love about him so much?

I love his easy going personality, loyalty, and patience.

What do you love about her so much?

She has a great personality and a love for family. She supports and motivates me to succeed.

What is your wedding invitation like and where did you go to get it done?

The pocket invitations were customized by E. Street Paperie. The invitations were monogrammed with our intials on the front, with purple ribbon going down the middle.

What are your wedding colors and why did you guys choose that color palette?

Our wedding colors were purple, olive green, and cream. Purple is my favorite color and we thought the other colors would compliment it the best.

Describe your wedding cake:

The wedding cake was white with purple ribbon along with swirl details at the base of each tier. Each tier alternated between square and round, with purple calla lillies.

Describe your wedding flowers:

Purple and cream calla lilies.

Where did you go for your honeymoon?

We went to Cancun, Mexico for a week.

What are you looking forward to in the future together?

Traveling and having a family.

Ashley & Scott's Sawgrass Marriott Wedding - Ponte Vedra & Jacksonville FL Wedding Photographer

I'm so happy to blog this wonderful couple's sweet and intimate wedding at Sawgrass Marriott just earlier this month :) Ashley is a super awesome bride, and I don't even know how she managed planning for her wedding and also getting ready to graduate from college on the same weekend. On top of that, Ashley had several families and friends fly in from Colorado, where she is from, days before the wedding and graduation. I admire her strength on how she juggled being a bride, a soon-to-be graduate, and a mom to a beautiful girl, who is the adorable flower girl in their wedding by the way :)

I've known Scott since high school days, and he even went to Jacksonville University (my alma mater) for a year. He was in the golf team, and that guy can play golf! I think he went to Florida State University after that. Scott, feel free to correct me if you're reading this, and if I got the schools mixed up ;)

I'm thankful for Ashley and Scott to have chosen us to be their wedding photographers! It was also great to see a lot of Celebration Church friendly faces at their wedding. Our awesome Pastor Wyatt was their officiant :) Congratulations, Ashley and Scott, and God bless!! :)

For the first time ever in my blog...this is the groom's version of the LOVE STORY....

How did you guys meet?
Ashley met me at Church. I didn’t notice her. She was talking to a mutual friend of ours. He knew me for several years and he knew her for several months. It was a quick meeting at this point. Travis, our mutual friend, basically said to Ashley, “Ok, Scott’s here, got to go” (those are not the exact words but it was something gave the same exact effect). A couple of weeks or months later (I’m not sure of the time frame), I was having a day that I don’t like to remember for several reasons, but I do like to remember it for one reason in particular. I met Ashley. I went to what I thought was a message based church group (it turned out it was a singles message based group) because I was invited by a different mutual friend of Ashley, and I was having a rough day. Ashley saw me, didn’t recognize me, and later told me that upon seeing myself again thought, “At least we have a good looking guy in here finally.” I, still in a fog and oblivious to all, still didn’t notice her. Although, our meeting was about to happen as Ashley was leaving the group. Ladies were not allowed to go to their cars without a male escort (the area where the group was located had a few robberies recently). Ashley needed an escort, I escorted her. This was our first official meeting that I recall. Two weeks later, at the group again, we talked for a long time after the group was over about general things. I gave her some encouragement about her tests she was taking in math and from then on, we started our relationship.

Describe the proposal:

It was Saturday, May 23, 2009. Ashley’s 22^nd birthday. I planned this whole thing where the guys on my business team were going to go to ladies leadership with me and take their wives and I was going to do it on a person’s farm. That plan didn’t work. I was then going to do it at dinner in front of the larger team. That didn’t work. So finally, we went to Carrabba’s for lunch and I did it in front of my friends in an empty restaurant. Ashley had cake, she had her birthday things, and of course, she had a ring on her finger.

What is your favorite thing to do on your date night?
We like to do anything except stay home. Since our time is very limited we do not get to do a whole lot of things on our date nights, but one thing we do like to do is turn my phone off and spend quality time having fun together. Watching a movie is not always quality time since we don’t talk during a movie, but we do that sometimes. Going out to dinner is nice since we do talk a little. The main thing we like to do is just spend time together alone.

What are your wedding colors and why did you guys choose that color palette?
Ashley chose them because yellow is her favorite color and purple goes well with yellow. She thought it was pretty and I think she did well. To be honest I do not know why she chose the colors, but I am glad she did.

Describe your wedding cake:
She likes the look of fondant in pictures. I think it looks better as well. That was the only requirement. Ashley found a picture of one on a website that she liked. She showed it to me and I approved. The only thing I had a say in with the cake is the taste of the cake. It was delicious. Ashley and I only got one bite.

Describe your wedding flowers:
We had a great elaborate look set up by Ashley and her mom. They did excellent with the room and decorating the area. Took them months to get the supply ready to be put into the room and decorated. The flowers on the gazebo and the flowers the girls had in their hands were all designed by Turner Ace Hardware at Marsh Landing.

What advice can you give to another bride planning for her own wedding?
Get a budget. Don’t stress over little things, let others do that for you. Plan early and don’t procrastinate. (This is coming from a guy’s perspective, Ashley’s perspective may be totally different).

Where did you go for your honeymoon?
Disney. She loves Disney so I took her to Walt Disney World in Florida.

What are you looking forward to in the future?
Getting to know my wife better everyday. Pursuing a dream together. Raising our kids the same way.
