Ask my husband, I have expensive taste.. but don't we all? I've been hinting that all I really want for my birthday (3 days after Christmas) is a tilt shift lens. Call it a trend, but I really love its effect as much as I love what my fisheye lens does for me :) One of my favorite husband-and-wife team photographers, Mark & Candice Brooke, is notorious (in a good way!) for their tilt shift effect. Head over to their website and treat your eyes with "radical images." Anyway, if you go to B&H Photo, you'll find that the lens starts at $1,200.00 and can even go up to $2,500.00!!
Okay, that price tag doesn't fly too well with the hubs but after playing around in PhotoShop...I think I can semi-imitate the look. Oooh, Bobby will be so proud of me that I just saved ourselves $1,200.00+!! ;-)

sweetie.... have you seen the lens babies? they are only $300-400ish or maybe even cheaper... I rented one, love it!
ReplyDelete@Jess--Hehe!! I was wondering who'd be the first to tell me about lensbaby?! Yes, they're awesome and they're actually my 2nd choice.. granted I have never used 'em before, but I've seen their effects and I love it too. I've played around w/ the tilt shift and that is just amazing!! But hey.. something free just by imitating the look in PhotoShop sounds good too ;-) LOL
ReplyDeleteI say go with the PS technique (which is pretty good - I had to go back and read again because I thought you actually used a tilt shift for that shot!). Because how much would you actually use it? It's such a pain to have to change your lens for a shot or two.
ReplyDelete@Gwen-totally agree! It's a $2,400 saving! :) LOL
