What is Success?

SETTING GOALS...but not in concrete
STAYING FOCUSED...but turning aside to help someone
FOLLOWING A PLAN...but remaining flexible
MOVING AHEAD...but not too fast to smell the flowers
TAKING A BOW...but applauding those who had a part in your success...
YOU are a success!

As I keep contemplating and praying about my future, I ran across this beautiful card at CVS today. I was browsing around for a great Graduation card for our friend Peter who's graduating tomorrow from UNF...instead I found myself being comforted by the words on the card and said a little thank you prayer to God. With the comfort and support from my husband, family and good friends, I think it's time for a change. I'm not sure exactly what kind of a change I'm going to pursue as of yet, but I've been itching for one or two...soon!

On another note, to keep up with my daily Alaska posting, here's a mini slideshow from our fishing trip in Sitka. My point-n-shoot camera is not really the greatest thing to use on an overcast day, but I know some of you have been asking for the fishing trip pictures. Enjoy!

Kellie's Getting Married!

As a tradition, the bride gets wild and crazy before the wedding. Don't worry, nothing crazy happened. It was all good times in Miami for Kellie's Bachelorette Party :) I am only posting several pictures (most of them are from my point-n-shoot camera), and the rest are for Kellie's eyes only ;-)

Getting Ready for the Weekend

Today is my sister-in-law Emily's bday, and I just want to give her a blog shout out to wish her a very Happy Birthday!!

I'll be in Miami this weekend for Kellie's bachelorette party :) It's kind of cool how I was just in Alaska last weekend and was cold, and now I'll be in Miami this weekend where I'll be sweating. I won't be able to check any emails, but I'll be sure to get back with everyone on Monday :) Have a great weekend, everyone! Go Yankees!!

Fields of Dreams

Baseball has always been one of my favorite sports to watch, and many of you know (and probably cringe at the thought) that I'm a huge New York Yankees fan ;-) I can still remember the very first time I walked into "The House that Ruth Built." I felt so small inside the giant stadium as I saw the field for the first time. I can still hear the people's wild loud cheers and chants, hmm.. smell the popcorn and hot dogs....it was love at first sight! My mom and I used to root for Paul O' Neill, #21, and now it's #2 (Jeter), #13 (A-Rod) and #42 (Rivera) are in my heart :)

Bobby knew that my love was the Yankees when he first met me, and because of that he's a big Red Sox fan--go figure! Now one of our married life goals is to visit all the MLB baseball fields. So far we've been to Fenway, AT&T Park, and most recently, Safeco Field. Enjoy the pictures from our Seattle Mariner's field tour :) Lots of self-portrait shots! The pictures at the very bottom are from our Red Sox tour in 2004 & Giants tour in 2007.

***Yankees and Red Sox are battling again this weekend starting on Friday night at 7:05 PM***

Oh, Canada!

Our last port call was in Victoria, British Columbia. The city was so clean and beautiful. It was indeed another artsy town, and I will post more pictures when I get the chance to. My brides come first, so I've been working on their pictures before I really get the chance to pick out all my favorite pictures from our trip. I might just go back to one photo a day for now :)

Enjoy the picture below. Bobby took this one, and I love how he's really thinking out of the box when taking "tourist" pictures :-)

Reminiscing Seattle

Since I posted about 25 pictures last night, I figured only one for tonight :) Before our Alaskan cruise, Bobby, his family, and I were in Seattle for 3 days and 2 nights. Gosh, that city is very beautiful as well! I used to live right outside of Seattle (Spanaway, WA) way back when I was in 7th grade, and I've always loved Mt. Rainier. Wherever you go in the city, and if it's not too foggy/misty or being blocked by tall buildings, you can always see Mt. Rainier from where you are standing. I miss the fresh air there, the artsy downtown Seattle, the lively Pike Place Market...I sort of want to go back and live there...hmmnn....

Back to earth..it's late and I am off to bed "early." I'm still trying to get over a cold and a bad cough...yuck. Here's a group picture of us at Bacco Cafe & Bistro. That place is awesome for breakfast and for fast and friendly service!

Photo Safari in Juneau

I was originally going to post just one photo a day from our Alaskan trip, but I think it will take me over a year to finally show everything I like if it's only one picture a day ;-) Below are the pictures I took from our photo safari in Juneau with Gastineau Guiding. I was a bit disappointed with the whale watch tour part because all we saw were the flukes and no breaching, but apparently, that is not very common to see. With a two hour tour in the boat, it's definitely not enough time to see the active whales playing :( Nevertheless, Bobby and I had a blast and learned a lot about Alaska's wild flowers, Mendenhall Glacier, humpback whales, bald eagles, mean harbor seals, about the local people in Juneau, salmon, porcupines, and beavers from our wonderful tourguide Jim. Enjoy the pictures :)

xoxo
