Just a Little Note

Hi guys! I am about to go to bed, but I just want to let everyone know that the Hannah Montana concert rocked!!! Miley Cyrus was awesome--and yes, I'm 26 years old! LOL :-P I'll be posting pictures (and possibly videos) on that one soon. I have a busy weekend coming up...and I can't tell you the location yet, but I'm going somewhere awesome for an engagement photo session! Yippee--I can't wait :) You'll see the pictures soon! Other than that, I'll be sporting my NY Giants apparels all weekend long (and no, it's not Arizona nor NY that I'm going to--though that would be nice too!).

Toastmasters Officer Training

My dear brother always asked me to join a local Toastmasters club here in Jacksonville since the beginning of last year, and I always resisted to his advice. I promised him that after my wedding in May 2007, I would give it a try and check out the one close to my old work in Deerwood area. I clam up when I speak in front of people, and I always wondered why, oh why, would I ever pay club dues to something that I am most afraid of and pretty much, another stress addition to my life...lo and behold, here I am and after 6-7 months in the club, I have given several speeches, facilitated the meeting, and even won a 2nd place trophy for our Table Topics (impromptu speaking) contest back on January 16th. I am also the Public Relations, VP for our own chapter.

Being a Toastmaster is something I truly enjoy, and I know that there is still a lot of room for improvement with my public speaking and especially with my English grammar. English is only my second language. Being in this supportive environment really helps motivate me to reach for my own club goals, become a successful speaker and overall, a business person. Besides, being in the club will also help me in other aspects of life and just not with the Corporate world. I am confident that my public speaking experiences will help help me tremendously when it's time for me to give my photo presentation at JU on Feb. 12th (which, I'm still very stoked with my professor's invitation!).

This past Saturday, I had the chance to attend the Toastmasters Officer Training at the Bank of America corporate office here in Jacksonville. I got to meet and network with many people, so that's always good :) I also found out that JU now has its own Toastmasters chapter, and I can't wait to check that club out next month. Please check out the Toastmasters site, and feel free to send me an email if you have any questions about the club. I strongly recommend Toastmasters for everyone, and I guarantee that you will see a difference in your life :-)

Nancy & Mike are Engaged!

I had a wonderful time capturing the love shots between Nancy and Mike in St. Augustine last weekend. Despite of the rain, we actually got some fun pictures with the umbrella :) I've known Nancy since Junior & Senior days in high school, and it is cool how we got reconnected. Her maid-of-honor, Debbie, whom I know in another high school during my Freshman & Sophomore years kept in touch through MySpace and pretty much led Nancy and I to get connected. Ah, the joy of reuniting in MySpace!

Can't wait for their wedding in November at Cathedral Basilica, and that's the reason why they picked the St. Augustine location by the way. Since the wedding will be close to Christmas time, Nancy and Mike wanted their e-session done while the Nights of Lights is still happening. Wonderful idea!

Congrats Nancy & Mike!!

Weekend Trip to North Carolina

Gotta love buddy passes! Bobby and I got the chance to visit Rachel & Geoff, who are both airline pilots, in North Carolina. It was so much fun hanging out with them about two weekends ago! Rachel is my best friend in college and she was in my wedding party when Bobby and I got married in Las Vegas, and I was in her wedding party as well when she and Geoff married two days after us--it was insane to plan our weddings two days apart...but it was worth it :) We all had fun, except for the plane ride from Vegas to Sonora, CA the next morning after our wedding! Bobby and I had only 1 hour of sleep, and we both had bad headaches--but it was also one of the best experiences we ever had. Bobby got to co-pilot with Geoff in Rachel's dad' 4-seater plane, and I got to text people from the plane when we flew over Yosemite ;-) How cool is that?!

Our trip to NC was awesome, and no, there was no snow in Charlotte! We truly enjoyed Rachel & Geoff's company. They fed us very well, that's for sure! Geoff used to be a chef, and he cooked for us in the morning and at night :) By the way, that was the same weekend that the JAGS played against the Steelers--and Bobby & I were the only ones that I saw wearing JAGS shirt & jersey while many others were wearing Steelers apparels at many places that we went to.

Enjoy the mini slideshow :)

What an Honor!

Me, a visiting artist? Wow! It's just weird hearing that from someone especially from one of the people that I truly admire and gave me the inspiration to explore my photography interest a little farther--always "pushing the film!" My Photography professor from Jacksonville University, Ginger, emailed me tonight that totally got me jumping up for joy :) See her email below:

Dear Corinna –

Your website is fabulous! Would you ever have time to come and talk to my studio class one day? We meet 1:30-4:15 TR. I would love for you to talk about how you do your photos and how you set up your website, etc. because you are so energetic and so creative. They would be very excited. You would only need to stay an hour. But, if you can’t fit it in, it is fine. You could bring images of you trashing your dress too to introduce the idea. And put it on you resume as a visiting artist talk.

Thanks – Ginger

This is truly an honor since I never pictured myself as a visiting artist when I was in her classes and listening to other artists come in and talk about their artwork. I already said, "yes!!" and I can't wait! Oh by the way, I guess being a Toastmaster now comes handy too ;-)

Pink Meets Brown

I had the pleasure of helping my great friend, Scarlett Lillian, capture Debbine and Mike's special day back in September 2007. I didn't have my blog nor my website then, so I didn't really pursue on picking out my favorites. Now that I finally have both to help showcase some of my artwork, I figured why not post some pictures in my blog since I have some already in my website. Debbine had a pink and brown theme, and now everytime I walk in the Juicy Couture store at St. John's Town Center, I just think of their wedding. I am not doing a big slideshow of the whole wedding but rather just a few of my favorites.

Enjoy!

I don't post B&W pictures in my website, so here they are in my blog instead:

Camping Winter 2007

This post is for Sarah, Anna, and Jackie :) Yay!! Finally up, and I will be uploading the camping pictures in Snapfish as well so therefore you can buy the prints from there.

How come that we always pick the coldest weekend ever for camping?? We went camping in Dec. 2006, and it was about 20 degrees or so on those two night that we stayed at Gold Head Branch State Park. The guys thought that maybe we should go camping in November this time, and sad to say, we picked the date when it was miserably cold again--so cold that my car battery froze for about three hours, my cellphone's LCD screen froze, and my lil' point-n-shoot camera's screen cracked inside. :-( Oh well, at least it was not cold inside of our tent. Thanks to our friend Nathan, we were the only couple that had a portable heater on while we were sleeping ;-) We brought our dog, Raechaelle, with us, and she had the "time of her life" as much as we did despite of the cold weather!

Maybe we will go camping in October this year....

For now enjoy the slideshows below. The last one is from my point-n-shoot camera--thank goodness that it still works.

Katie & Kevin are Engaged!!

Katie and Kevin are practically head over heels for each other! It was so fun to spend one afternoon with both of them and capturing their love for each other in photos. It was like watching a romantic movie such as "Sleepless in Seattle" and "The Notebook" when I was taking pictures of them two. Anyone can see that they are happy to have found each other and just enjoy being together.

Oh yes, the location of our session was even more special to both of them because it was at Kevin's parents' place. His sister had her own engagement session done in that very same beautiful backyard as well.

Congrats, Katie and Kevin!!

Here are few of my favorites from that day:
